Designers are working with a lot of new materials these days. One of the funnest has to be balloons. Granted, this isn’t a particularly practical material, so don’t expect to see these in showrooms soon.
This first chair was featured in a very interesting exhibition- new olds: design between tradition and innovation – which is showing at Design Museum Holon. Dwell has a cool slideshow about the show here, and a post here.

Next is the Balloon Bench by h220430. Kind of amazing how much stuff of theirs I like. We’ve featured their Edoma Light and their Grandmothe’rs Chair before. Via dezeen
The aluminium Balloon Bench is suspended from anchor points in the ceiling, concealed by clusters of polyethylene balloons.

I am less enthused by the Balloon Stool, featured below. Domestik Goddess says the following
If I were to tie 500 deflated balloons around a bright pink painted wooden stool, you just know it would look unbelievably lame.
At Unica Home, however, Natalie Kruch’s Balloona Stool Confetti is sheer brilliance — “making the ordinary both intriguing and beautiful.”
Actually, I’m pretty sure that if I “tie[d] 500 deflated balloons around bright pink painted stool” it would look kinda like this, depending on the stool. I honestly can’t imagine how it could look much different than this. Found via Trend Hunter
