Sometimes, it’s a little too easy to fall in love. For example, every time I see furniture designs that utilize Concrete Canvas, my knees get weak.
The name of Erasmus Scherjon‘s “Medusa Bench” represents a key characteristic of Concrete Canvas. While we are used to concrete looking either artificial or cave-like, this new material allows concrete to look organic. Medusa’s glare turned living beings into statues. Similarly this Medusa Bench looks like a petrified version of a softer sofa.
